Last week on April 5th I arrived at Highgrove Farm in Valdosta, GA. The weather was breezy but warm and calm, but we were under a TORNADO and THUNDERSTORM watch with a high chance of rain! It was so gloomy; the sun was peeking in and out of the clouds, however we still had great light for photography!
Tracey and Kurt are a military couple, Tracey is a retiree herself (I know, she’s too pretty and too young to be called a retiree) and Kurt is serving at Moody AFB. They chose their date because life had a coincidence in their lives, all of their parents got married on the same date, April 5th 1986, isn’t that crazy?
So, they chose to wed on the same date, later on there is a little surprise about that! They met through mutual friends in the Summer of 2014 but never started dating until 2015. Kurt proposed at one of their favorite places in the mountains in October 2015 in New Mexico at the time.
They had a very intimate ceremony with just close family and friends, and their three handsome boys!
They also handmade their beautiful bouquet and boutonniere! I love the yellow and mauve accents, it's very fitting for a Spring wedding,
Kurt also convinced Tracey to have a first look, yay! I love first looks, they are such a beautiful and intimate moment for the couple, not to mention the chance for extra portraits before everything starts. His reaction was priceless! Once we gave him the OK, he had to take a few seconds before turning around and it was SO sweet.
The rain did catch up with us before the ceremony, but we managed to sneak in when it cleared out a bit and made it to the chapel.
Their ceremony was short and sweet, their boys kept their rings and brought it to them when it was time to wed, they couldn't contain their emotions and you could feel the love, between them and all the family and friends present.
THEN, Tracey's dad surprised her mom with an impromptu vow renewal! Ha, remember they both got married on the same date? So they got to profess their love for one another after 31 years together, how cute is that?
After all the celebrations we had some more time for bride and groom portraits, MY FAVORITES! Tracey doesn't like to have pictures taken and I am SO THANKFUL that she gave me more time than we initially anticipated for some portraits of just the two of them! I love how these turned out.
