Jamie came home and I am so honored I was there to capture his arrival!
Chelsey had been anxiously awaiting him for months! As we arrived at the meeting spot, we received news that there had been a bit of a delay, which always builds up your expectations, but we also met Steven, a family friend who was there to welcome his friends home as well and his good spirits helped Chelsey and I pass the time.
We have been having some bad weather lately down here but we were lucky the rain let out right before their arrival and everyone could just go outside and wait for them to land!
But don't be fooled, after they landed, we still had to wait a little longer, even I was thinking, just come hug them already! She had to wait a lot longer than it seems in the pictures but I just LOVE their encounter and how she kissed like she meant it! I am glad I told her that the more she kisses and lingers, the more pictures we'll have and I am glad I did because I have some gorgeous shots of the two of them!
That's one of my favorite things about homecomings, when you see all the love, that moment when you hug your husband, wife, friend or mommy/daddy and it makes all the wait worth it! It reminds you WHY you are doing this.
Chelsey came by herself because she had the cutest surprise planned for their children, she put Jamie in a box! Yeah, he got in a box, gnats and all, and they surprised the kids with a pop!
Keep scrolling to see their reactions and all the love they shared during that sweet moment, it will melt your heart! I just love how happy they all are, you can tell by the huge smiles on their faces.
I love the unposed hugs and candid smiles; documentary is so different than a regular portrait session, although with kids, you always need to let them be themselves even if just for a little bit, so you can get their real smiles!
Welcome home, Jamie! I hope you guys enjoy reliving those moments through my eyes! Thank you for trusting me to capture such a special moment in your lives!
