Welcome to the blog!

Hi there, I am Cat and I am so thrilled you stopped by! I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in Valdosta, Georgia (soon to be Maryland!), where I live with my sweet husband and our crazy rescue pup, JJ.

I am a perpetual traveler, champagne-loving red lipstick-wearer with a passion for telling stories through images, food and travel.

I hope you enjoy  viewing my latest work and getting a little peek into my life. Make yourself at home!

FREEDOM PARK - SHERRIE & CALEB – ANNIVERSARY

Sherrie and Caleb have been married for 10 years! They didn’t have a large wedding as often military couples don’t. Being a military spouse myself, I can relate to that wholeheartedly.

They did have some video and pictures of their wedding but they were so young, she was 19 and he was only 21! They got married at the chapel at the Guard Reserve Base in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas and it was a quick ceremony.

Sherrie and Caleb bet when they were teenagers, they were best friends and started dating two years later. Caleb joined the Air Force in 2005, the same time when he proposed! They got married a year later, in 2006.

Not only have they been together all this time, they also have three beautiful children that range from 4 to 7 years old. Life in the military has its own sets of challenges, but instead of splitting them apart, it only made them stronger.

Sherrie answered a local ad I ran on Facebook looking for models to participate in a styled photoshoot. They’re outdoorsy, love going on hikes, riding horses, love taking the kids to see new places and the history behind them.

I got to partner with local vendors to pull this together. I decided to photograph at a local park near my house, I asked her if she was up for doing vows and a first look as well and she as totally on board! She even got to get a new wedding dress for the pictures.

So, it was styled, but for them, it was still a little vow renewal, which was so sweet to hear and I tried to make this a more meaningful experience than just two people posing.

We got to know each other a little bit, and by the end of the day, even Caleb was being a goofball and having a blast. I am SO THANKFUL to all of the vendors that helped me pull this off! Also, Kyle, for making the whole table from scraps we had at home, I just love that table, it’s part of our guest room now :) also the kind gentlemen who patiently waited for me to photograph their first look without throwing Frisbees at us (we were right next to one of the holes).

This session was a styled collaboration between Cat Granger Photography and the vendors below who so graciously donated their products and time to make this happen.
