Wedding season is coming up soon, can you believe it’s almost Spring already? It feels like only two weeks ago it was Valentine's Day. Today we will take a look at the wedding trends for 2018!
COLORS AND TEXTURES
Pantone has come up with THE COLOR for 2018, and you guessed it, Ultra Violet! According to them, the word is that this trend will certainly influence couple’s decision and encourage them to incorporate the bright purple hue on their wedding day. Purple can be used for everything, and it’s a natural floral color, so we should expect to see a lot of purples! I love purple, but I tend to favor more traditional colors, like navy, cream an gold for a timeless look(those were my wedding colors!).

Silver, chrome and clear
The word is that the metallic trend will continue, however, we have a different set of colors this year, opposed to the copper, gold and rose gold. Couples who are tying the know in 2018 are choosing brigh and airy wedding venues and locations to achieve a clean and modern look, that includes glass buildings lots of windows (which is also perfect for photographers, bring in the light!). But the clear trend doesn’t stop there, glass and mirror table décor, seating plans, menus and plate chargers are just some of the elements to be incorporated!
Bringing back the formal with a flair
The rustic, burlap and lace and boho styles are giving way to more modern, formals and traditional celebrations. The key word is elegance, which I love! That includes clean florals (but what about the purple?), classic tuxedos and sparkle, sequin dresses anyone? The key is to add a touch of fun or whimsical to the formality, so the events aren’t your usual black-tie, stuffy commemorations! Yes, that means you can still drink champagne and dance on the table, you know, at your own risk!
The Food – It’s no news that foodies are running the industry nowadays, so since we’re already talking about the party, the entertainment seems to be a very large focus for 2018 couples. Providing all of the guests with food experience and moving away from the three-course options and focusing on reflecting their own styles and tastes. Some couples are opting for choices like sushi and gin bars that are interactive and promote social hour.
Let them eat cake – Dessert tables are making a comeback (they never went away in Brazil, but that’s a different story). In addition, the grand ol’ wedding cake, dessert tables will still offer guests more options for their sweet tooth cravings and skip on the formal dessert. The more creative and interactive the better! I vote for cotton candy, because, who doesn’t love cotton candy? 2018 Food Trends on Pinterest
Sleeves, capes and the blush color are here to stay! With capes being the new alternative to the veil, although if you ask me, I am still in love with the veil shots we are able to capture on the wedding day. The same goes for the timeless lace and pearls look, they haven’t gone anywhere and along with very deep V necks, they will be featured on the gowns for Spring and Fall 2018. That wraps up my favorite trends of the year, what are your favorites, will you be incorporating any of those in your 2018 wedding?
